where does the money go?

Type your total budget and guest count. You get a category-by-category split you can adjust, the cost per guest, and what is left once you add what you have already booked. Runs in your browser; nothing is saved.

Your split

Edit any % to move money between categories. Add amounts you have already booked to see what is left in each.

Planning for real? The Wedding Budget Planner for Google Sheets and Excel keeps this split plus every vendor, deposit and due date, the next payments due, and your guest list with RSVPs and meals. $9, made by the same person who built this calculator.

How to use the split

Start from the big three

Catering, venue and photography usually take the largest shares. Decide those first; the rest adjusts around them.

Cost per guest is the lever

Each extra guest adds to catering, drinks, stationery, favors and often venue size. Cutting the guest list is usually the fastest way to bring the total down.

Keep a contingency

Fees, tips, overtime and last-minute changes show up late. A small contingency share keeps them from coming out of a category you care about.

About the default split

The starting percentages are a planning template, not survey data. Move them to match your priorities and local prices.
